I literally JUST finished reading this book as I write this and I want to punch a McMahon, or anyone McMahon adjacent, in the mouth. Justins book shows that persistence pays off when chasing your dreams and, unfortunately, how quickly those dreams can become nightmares. I went through a similar experience. 15 years at the best job I ever had working for the worst people I ever have. Justin, like me, not only worked the job that was given him, but he did it very well and made it his. The roll he was filling was greater than when he started because of his dedication and passion. He went above and beyond above and beyond and ascended into the realm of the greats like Okerlund, Chimmel, and The Fink. Then he had a steaming load dumped on him. WHHHo dropped that pile on HHHim isn’t really known, but I HHHave an idea. More to the point, Justin’s passion and dedication come through crystal clear in this book. It is well written and easy read with a flow that takes you on a rollercoaster ride. Even if you are not a wrestling fan, I recommend this book because you get to take part in someone living their dream. That Justin comes away from this not bitter, but happy to have gotten to chase and live his dream is a credit to his character. It probably had something to do with his mom and dad being cool AF.WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? BUY THE DAMN BOOK, ALREADY!
Well-written and it flows through the chapters. I am a lifelong wrestling fan and I never expected a former ring announcer to have such great stories and inside knowledge of he backstage politics of this protected business.But it only makes sense, right? He travels with them like every other guy on the roster and sees all that they do. His stories are gold.Starting out with a dream of being in the business somehow to getting to the big show, i.e., the WWE, is one remarkable feat. And all the while in the book, it flows like a professional novelist wrote it.The now famous "JBL" bullying tales that have come out of this book being published are a bit disturbing, but it has put some disinfectant on this rat.I recommend this book, two thumbs-up to any wrestling fan who wants to get a whole different perspective on the business from a perspective of a younger voice.
